Counselling and Psychotherapy is a talking therapy and through this process you may become aware of patterns in your life that may not be serving you well. Counselling and Psychotherapy provides support in times of change. Philomena can assist and facilitate in the alleviation of difficulties or stresses in one’s life. Challenges and difficulties in your life are normal from time to time. However, they can be overwhelming making us feel helpless and powerless.

 

Philomena’s style of counselling is to listen, support and perhaps help with insight to either change what is possible to change, or to live more contentedly and creatively with that which is not. Neither judging or condoning thoughts, feelings or behaviours but providing a safe, confidential environment to explore the losses, stresses, confusion, conflict and other pain during life crises.

 

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Philomena works  with a mostly person centred approach whilst using CBT where appropriate. CBT is a collaborative therapy that supports individuals to change how you think (‘Cognitive’) and what you do (‘Behaviour’). These changes can help you to feel better. Making changes in what we think will affect what we do and feel, and changing what we do, affects the way we think and feel.
